Book Blogger Hop (26) & Follow Friday (18)

It's Friday so it means it's time for the Book Blogger Hop and Follow Friday!

Book Blogger Hop

First off, the Book Blogger Hop is a weekly meme hosted by Jennifer of Crazy-for-Books. It is a way for all the book bloggers out there to get together and find out about each other's blogs. I've found a lot of great blogs and bloggers through this hop and it's always fun to take part in each week.

As many already know, I mostly read YA books, and pretty much every genre that ends up falling under that umbrella. As to why YA, as of Tuesday I will just be coming out of my teen years so I guess it's still a pretty important part of my life. Mostly I can relate to the characters and what they are going through a lot more than I can when I read adult books (probably why I tend not to read any adult contemporary). It feels like YA is all I've always read and I absolutely love it, so why change.

The Follow Friday is hosted by Parajunkee's View each week. It works a lot like the Book Blogger Hop except that it's only on Fridays. I haven't been taking part in this hop as long but I've found a lot of great new blogs through this one too.

If by non-human we mean pets, I don't have any...unless you count the random mice that show up in our basement from time to time. At this point I don't even live with my actual family. I have nothing against pets per say. When I was younger we had a bird for almost 8 years. Now one of my roommates is allergic to pretty much anything with fur so that's a no go for lots of pet...and our landlord doesn't allow pets in the house. So all that to say, I don't have a non-human family.

None that I can think of at this time. Though be on the look out I will be posting reviews more often so be sure to check back.

That's it for this week!

Enjoy your weekends!

  1. Ah, that is too bad. I think I make up for your non human family, or lack there of. I have 4 cats, 2 fiddler crabs, & a partridge in a pear... no I have a 210 gallon fish tank with plenty of tropcial wonders.

Today I posted a review of a grand Steampunkery Book!  Please do check it out, I highly recommend Vampire Empire: The Greyfriar if you want Steampunkery and a mix of many genres.  A new favorite... indeed a huggable book!

  2. Hopping by to say Hello! I'm also a YA fan and love the genre! You can find me blogging here:

  3. I am hopping by from Follow Friday. Totally understand the no furr. I only have a fish, but he’s gorgeous. Brandi from Blkosiner’s Book Blog

  4. I read more than one genre. But there are a few genres I don't read. Come see what I do and don't read.

  5. Hi! Following through for Friday! You should adopt a Cheetah or Lion! Haha! I know it sounds weird but here in SA we have preservation funds where you "adopt" wildlife by making small contributions to the funds regularly... Viola! You have a pet but don't have a pet!

    I'm now following!

  10. Old follower, wanted to say hi! Drop by if you get a chance!

  11. Here I am hopping on by...

I went all over the map with this question on my blog. I read and enjoy almost every genre of fiction out there. There’s no way I could just pick one.

So I talked about all of them. Even romance fiction (sort of)! I invite you to hop over to my blog at and see for yourself.

  12. Hi, found you from the hop. If you love YA, i agree there's no need to change that! I like that I can read through a range of genre's all under YA.

  13. How is your Friday going? I'm a new follower. Check me out at

  14. I'm sorry to hear you can't have pets. I'm the proud mommy of a cat named Miranda. I love a cat's independence and self-sufficient personality. I'm a new follower of yours from Parajunkee's FF and would love you to visit me.

  15. I'm a new follower! Check out my blog when you get the chance? :)

  16. I don't think I'll ever outgrow YA books! Hopping by from the Book Blogger Hop :)

  17. an old follower hopping by to say have a great weekend

Same here. My landlord also does not allow me to keep any pet. She seems afraid to cat. She keeps throw them away. :(

  18. Following you! :D

Stopping by from the Blog Hop and Follow Friday. Have a great weekend!

My Hop and Follow are here

    Happy Reading,

  19. I think YA fiction is more interesting than adult fiction a lot of the time, just because I think what teens go through in their lives is more interesting that what adults go through. Plus, as someone who's no longer a teen, I don't always feel like reading about adults who are going through the same things I am, so YA fiction it is. Happy reading!

  20. Just hopping through and hoping you're enjoying your weekend so far. You can find my HOP answer and FEVERfest recap at The Bookish Snob

  21. I think you're the first blogger I've hopped over to who read YA and is still a teenager lol. I love YA as well, but I'm in my 20s...I just think I'm a teenager inside! I also read a lot of Historical fiction.

    This is my first Hop!

  22. Hopping through. I'm a big YA fan too...and I'll be the big 3-0 in September ( sounds so old).

  23. Happy Hoppy Friday! I'm hopping through to see everyone's answers! Drop by and say hi if you have a chance!

  24. Yes, I totally agree with you... YA books are awesome! Adult books can be such downers! I think I would read more adult fiction if it weren't so serious and depressing. Even in dystopian YA, the characters always have a lot of energy and hope.
