I need your recommendations!

If you've been paying attention to what I've been reading lately (which honestly, I doubt that many of you have) then you may have noticed that I've been reading a whole lot more romance than YA lately. I blame new adult for that. A few years ago, I jumped on board the NA train and I still have yet to jump off. But reading all this NA has also led to me reading more romance in general.

And I'm loving it. Which is why I need some help.

I've come to the conclusion that contemporary romance is what I love (which really shouldn't surprise anyone who knows me), and as much as I want to read more, there's just so much out there that I'm not entirely sure where to start. So far, the only romance books I've read are by authors who have also written NA books (think people like Megan Erickson, Lia Riley, Kelly Siskind, etc). But I want to expand my horizons.

If you read contemporary romance give me ALL your recommendations. I have a few books on my shelves that I'm excited about checking out but I want more to choose from (because I don't have enough books on my TBR yet). I have a particular fondness for sports romance, anything that involves music, friends to lovers, second chance romance and sibling's best friend are my favourite tropes.

So if you have any recommendations that fit that, give them to me and I will happily go check out the books!

  1. Kasie West writes some wonderful contemp. romances that feature a lot of those themes you enjoy. Cora Carmack is a good one! The only other author I can think of right now is Colleen Hoover (if you are looking for more series romances.) Also, I always love Meg Cabot's books and her Heather Wells Mystery series is the best!

    1. Thanks for the recommendations! I love Colleen Hoover's books but there's still a couple I have to read. And I'm a huge Meg Cabot fan but her Heather Wells series is one I haven't actually read.

  2. I love Jennifer Cruise and Nora Roberts as well for contemporary romance.

    1. Thanks for the recommendations! I always see Nora Roberts when I'm in the romance section at my bookstore but I've never checked out any of her books.

  3. Ooh, don't mind if I do recommend some romances for you. :)

Julie James and Emma Chase write some fantastic romances that features lawyers. Julie James writes strong, smart and likable heroines while Emma Chase does the male POV better than I've seen in a long time.

Lauren Layne is another great contemporary romance author. Her books are fun.

Nalini Singh writes great paranormals but also has a fantastic contemporary series that features a rock band. I love her!

Elle Kennedy writes a great romantic suspense series that I'm enjoying right now.

Some great historical romance authors you might want to try are Tessa Dare, Julia Quinn, Lisa Kleypas, Loretta Chase, Judith McNaught and Julie Garwood.

Jen Frederick, Cora Carmack, Sarina Bowen, Elle Kennedy, Samantha Young's On Dublin Street series are all great authors as well. I'm sure there are more so I'll probably be back when I remember more. :)

    1. Thanks for all the recommendations! I've already read some books by some of these authors but I'll definitely be checking out the ones I still have to read. And it's funny you should mention Emma Chase. I've had some of her books sitting on my shelves for the longest time and I still haven't read them. So I guess I'll be doing that soon!
